Dog sledding is one of Alaska’s most unforgettable experiences, and you don’t need snow to enjoy it. Available from May through October, this interactive 2-hour summer dog sledding tour takes you into the heart of Alaska’s mushing country for an authentic look at life with a sled dog team.
When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by your friendly retired dogs before learning about the history and traditions of dog sledding in Alaska. You’ll then visit the kennel to meet the full team, interact with the dogs, and even learn how to harness them if you’d like. Once the team is ready, you’ll head out on a thrilling ride through forest trails and rolling hills, where you’ll see firsthand the strength, teamwork, and excitement of these incredible dogs. There’s plenty of time for photos, and the dogs always enjoy extra attention after the run.
