Blast off on our Miniatures Stage Tour to see the unbelievable Weta Workshop models and miniatures built for the remake of popular TV series, Thunderbirds Are Go! A cavern of creativity, the Weta Workshop Cave shop also boasts collectibles designed by the artists at Weta Workshop, prop replicas, apparel, jewellery, books and more. While you’re here, take a seat and enjoy a short documentary about the history of film-making on the Miramar Peninsula.
KAITOKE REGIONAL PARK, LOCATED A 40-minute drive from Wellington, contains a treat for fans of Lord of the Rings. It is part of a region known as Pakuratahi, at the head of the valley of Te Awakairangi. The park also served as the set for Rivendell, hidden refuge of the elves, in the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings trilogy.
