The instructors were born in the family with 3 generations making knives and scissors so they learned this trade since early age. They have been working hard every day to make the best knives and scissors. Despite the fact that this job is hard, they still have a great passion for it.
And I am Mai - a craft lover who created and organized this workshop and will also perform as a facilitator + translator for English speaking guests. Look forward to hosting you! :)
Other things to note:
- Long sleeves and long pants are high recommended to avoid sparks. No dress please.
- Timings are flexible so if there's another time you would prefer than what I have marked as available then message me and I will check my schedule and let you know if it is available.
- Make sure you have check-in luggage to carry your knife home.

What to expect
The work of making forging products is hard and complicated with various processes, such as making rough drafts, keeping fires burning, hitting red-hot iron into shape with hammers, tempering (strengthening) the metal with water – and then sharpening the final product.
In this course, you will go through all processes of making a simple knife. Even though today, blacksmiths are supported by machines, when visiting the village and host’s house, you will learn basic techniques of handmade forging which is traditional and helps bringing better quality products.
