Your journey begins at Aberdulais Falls, where powerful waters once drove one of Europe’s largest water wheels during the Industrial Revolution, the large waterwheel is still there today and the falls themselves are picturesque, a haven for wildlife and native plants and anyone keen to explore. (1km)
Continue to Melincwrt Falls, a tranquil setting in an ancient upland oak woodland, stream, and waterfalls cascade into the gorge below. (1km)
We then travel onward to the spectacular Henrhyd Falls (Batman's cave) the tallest waterfall in South Wales, tumbling dramatically into a deep, echoing gorge. A fitting grand finale to a day of waterfalls!
The tour continues with a scenic drive over the dramatic Rhigos Mountain Road, offering sweeping views across the surrounding peaks and a quick stop for a photo
Final scenic forest walk to Pen Pych waterfalls, a hidden gem nestled on the mountainside. (3.5km)
If time allows, you’ll also have the option to visit Rhondda Heritage Park to learn about the rich coal mining history of the Welsh Valleys, perhaps finishing with a traditional cup of tea and cake.
