Fresco Painting Class in Florence

LEARN THE FRESCO PAINTING WITH THE TECHNIQUES OF ANCIENT MASTERS OF FLORENCE.
The fresco is an ancient painting technique executed upon freshly laid, or wet lime plaster. Water is used as the vehicle for the dry-powder pigment to merge with the plaster, and with the setting of the plaster, the painting becomes an integral part of the wall.

In this workshop, participants will create a small fresco in about 3 hours using the medieval recipe of Cennino Cennini. Depending on your level, you can produce very simple works (perfect for beginners) or more complex subjects such as anatomical details for those who already have painting experience. If you are interested in painting a face, this is also possible; however, if the session exceeds the 3-hour duration, each additional hour costs €40 and can be paid directly at the studio.

The Atelier will carefully pack your fresco so you can easily take it home with you. This experience is truly unique—especially here in Florence.
