This unique limestone monolith is about 40 meters high and for many years it was inaccessible and surrounded by mystery. At the top of the pillar, there is a small church and monastic buildings. According to historical sources, monastic life existed here even in the early centuries. Today, Katskhi Pillar symbolically represents spiritual elevation, peace, and closeness to God. Even from a distance, it leaves a strong impression on visitors and reflects both the power of nature and sacredness at the same time.
Chiatura Chiatura is a city located in the Imereti region of Georgia and is known as the “manganese capital” of the country. Mghvimevi Monastery Mghvimevi Monastery is located near Chiatura, in a rocky environment on the left bank of the Kvirila River. The monastery is partially carved into the rock and blends with natural caves, giving it a unique appearance.
