Your journey starts with a seamless private transfer. We will meet you at your Istanbul hotel lobby at least 3 hours before your flight and provide a comfortable drive to the airport for your flight to Izmir. Sit back and relax while we handle the logistics.
Welcome to Izmir! Upon arrival, please look for our driver holding a sign with your name at the exit gate. We will provide a comfortable transfer to Selcuk (approx. 60 mins), where you will meet your tour guide and the group. Your ancient adventure starts here!
We start our tour in peace at the House of the Virgin Mary. Before the crowds arrive, we drive up to Mt. Koressos to visit this humble stone house, believed to be Mary’s final residence. You will have free time to feel the spiritual atmosphere, light a candle for your intentions, and leave a note on the 'Wishing Wall'.
We proceed to the ancient city of Ephesus, the best-preserved classical city in the Eastern Mediterranean. To ensure a comfortable experience, we start from the Upper Gate and walk downhill through the marble streets. You will stand in awe before the majestic Celsus Library, explore the Temple of Hadrian, and sit in the Great Theatre where St. Paul once preached. A true journey through the Golden Age of Rome
Often called the 'Museum within a Museum,' the Terrace Houses are a highlight not to be missed. Located under a protective roof, these are the private villas of the Ephesian elite. Walking on glass walkways, you will look down upon incredible mosaic floors, well-preserved frescoes, and private heating systems. It offers a rare, vivid glimpse into the luxurious domestic life of the Romans. (Note: Requires walking up steps inside the structure).
Experience Ephesus like never before. Located right inside the ancient city, this award-winning immersive museum uses state-of-the-art technology to resurrect the city. Through 360-degree screens, 3D audio, and sensory effects, you will virtually travel back in time to see the temples, streets, and daily life of Ephesus in its Golden Age. It’s the perfect finale to visualize the ruins you’ve just walked through.
We take a relaxing break to enjoy the rich flavors of Turkish cuisine at a selected local restaurant. You will have the opportunity to taste a variety of traditional dishes, including cold appetizers (meze), hot main courses, and local desserts. A perfect moment to recharge and enjoy the local culinary culture.
We wrap up our day at the site of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Once a glorious temple four times larger than the Parthenon, today a single column remains standing. It offers a unique photo opportunity where you can capture three eras of religion in a single frame: The Pagan Temple, the Isa Bey Mosque, and the Basilica of St. John. It is a peaceful spot to reflect on the layers of history we’ve seen today.
After a day full of history, we drive to the seaside town of Kusadasi. We will drop you off at your 4-star hotel for check-in. You have the rest of the evening free to relax at your hotel, walk along the beautiful promenade, or enjoy a sunset dinner at a local seafood restaurant by the Aegean Sea. Get a good rest for tomorrow!
We start our day with a drive to Priene, often called the 'Pompeii of Anatolia.' Unlike Ephesus, this city is peaceful, surrounded by pine trees, and dramatically set against the steep slopes of Mount Mycale. You will walk on the original 2,500-year-old grid streets, visit the Bouleuterion (Senate House), and stand by the Temple of Athena, which was funded by Alexander the Great himself. The view of the Meander Plain from here is simply breathtaking.
Next, we visit Miletus, once the greatest maritime power of the ancient world and the birthplace of Western philosophy (home to Thales). You will be amazed by the massive Grand Theatre, which rises above the flat plains like a fortress. We also explore the well-preserved Baths of Faustina. For those interested in biblical history, this is a significant site where St. Paul delivered his emotional farewell speech to the elders of Ephesus (Acts 20)
Time for a well-deserved break! We arrive in Didyma and stop at a local restaurant, many of which offer stunning views of the Temple of Apollo. Here, you can enjoy a delicious meal—fresh seafood is highly recommended in this coastal region—or choose from a variety of traditional Turkish dishes like Pide or Kebab. Recharge your energy before facing the giants of the ancient world.
Prepare to be awestruck. We save the most impressive site for last. Didyma was not a city, but a sacred oracle center second only to Delphi. The sheer scale of this temple is mind-blowing; standing next to its massive columns makes you feel tiny. You will walk through the dark tunnels to the inner sanctuary and see the famous 'Head of Medusa' sculpture—one of the most iconic images of antiquity. A powerful finale to our Ionian journey.
Leaving the Temple of Apollo behind, we enjoy a scenic drive through the cotton fields and olive groves back to the coast. We arrive at your hotel in Kusadasi in the late afternoon, giving you plenty of time to relax and enjoy the hotel amenities.
We pick you up from your hotel in Kusadasi and begin our journey to Pamukkale (approx. 2.5 - 3 hours). Sit back and enjoy the scenic drive through the fertile Meander Valley, passing through cotton fields, fig orchards, and authentic Turkish villages. Your guide will brief you on the history of the region as we approach the 'Cotton Castle'
We arrive at Hierapolis, known as the 'Holy City' due to its many temples and religious significance. Our exploration begins with the massive Necropolis (City of the Dead), the largest ancient cemetery in Anatolia. We will walk through the monumental Frontinus Gate and visit the incredibly well-preserved Theater, which offers a panoramic view of the white terraces below.
Located inside the restored ancient Roman Baths, this museum is a treasure trove of art. You will see impressive sarcophagi, intricate statues, and friezes unearthed from Hierapolis and nearby Laodicea. The highlight is the Hall of Statues, featuring mythological figures and gladiator reliefs that give you a glimpse into the city's artistic past.
A once-in-a-lifetime experience! Legend has it that Cleopatra herself swam here. This thermal pool is filled with submerged ancient marble columns from the Temple of Apollo, which fell into the water during an earthquake. You can swim in the warm, mineral-rich 'champagne waters' surrounded by history. (Note: Entrance to the pool area is free, but swimming requires an extra ticket.)
Time to experience nature's masterpiece. The name Pamukkale means 'Cotton Castle', describing the surreal, snow-white limestone terraces formed by calcium-rich thermal springs over millennia. You will take off your shoes and walk barefoot on these warm white cliffs, enjoying the thermal water and snapping unforgettable photos of the landscape. It feels like walking on clouds.
After walking on the white terraces, we take a break at a selected local restaurant in the town of Pamukkale. You will enjoy a delicious lunch featuring a variety of traditional Turkish dishes. It is the perfect opportunity to rest, recharge your energy, and chat about the amazing sights of the day.
We leave Pamukkale and drive to Denizli Cardak Airport (DNZ) for your flight to Istanbul (approx. 1 hour drive). We ensure that you arrive at the terminal with plenty of time for check-in. Your private driver will drop you off at the departure gate for your flight.
Welcome back to Istanbul! Upon landing and collecting your luggage, please exit the terminal building completely. Our team will be waiting for you at the designated 'Meeting Point' outside the building. Please look for our agency representative (details will be provided). We will then provide a private transfer directly to your hotel door. This marks the end of our seamless 3-day journey.
