This trip is the ultimate way to see Zanzibar’s wild side without spending the whole day in a car. You’ll start by hanging out with the Red Colobus monkeys in the jungle they’re super chill and literally don't live anywhere else on the planet. After the forest, you get to jump into a hidden limestone cave to swim with rescued sea turtles, which is easily one of the coolest photo ops on the island. We wrap it all up at Paje, where the vibe is totally laid back; you'll have plenty of free time to wander the village, grab a drink, or just sink your toes into that famous powdery white sand. It’s basically the perfect mix of wildlife, adventure, and beach time all rolled into one day.

Duration: 6 hours (approximately)
  • 1
    Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park

In the Jozani Forest, you'll run into the Red Colobus monkey, a rare little local that you won't find anywhere else on the planet. They love hanging out high up in the mahogany trees or swinging through the tangled mangrove swamps. It’s pretty wild seeing them in their natural habitat, especially since they’re so used to people that you can get some great photos while they snack on leaves.

    Salaam Cave Aquarium

You’ll head down into a cool limestone cave where the water is this crazy shade of turquoise. Once you're in, you can hop right into the pool to swim with and feed the rescued sea turtles—they’re super chill and will glide right past you. It’s a low-key, natural spot where you get to hang out with these guys while the guides tell you about how they rescue them from fishing nets. Just don't forget your water shoes, since the rocks can be a bit slippery!

  • 3
    Paje Beach

Stepping onto Paje’s shore feels like entering a living postcard where the rhythm of the Indian Ocean dictates your day. You’ll spend your mornings watching the tide pull back nearly a mile, revealing vibrant seaweed farms and local women in colorful khangas tending to their crops, before the afternoon winds kick in and fill the sky with hundreds of neon kitesurfing sails.
