This guided tour is dedicated to small groups (not more then 4 people) in order to keep a friendly atmosphere between, the guide, and the participants. It will be like to be guided by a friend who is leading you sightseeing in a tailor made tour, through her eyes.
She will take you to discover characteristic spots often ignored by the majority of the tourists and make you taste the specialties of the area in off the beaten track food spots.
Lavagna train station, Piazza Torino
You will walk through the medieval lanes flanked by typical arcades of the historical center of Lavagna, stopping at the Basilica of Santo Stefano with its cobbled churchyard. More spots and monuments will be visited along the tour such as the old washhouses of the town, the historical city hall building with its interiors, the 18th century wood sculptures christs, still used during the religious processions and shown inside a 16th century oratory. You will be told about the old tradition of the slate extraction from the mountains hereby, thanks to which the local artisans produced the outdoor and houses decoration along the centuries. We will stop in a typical wine shop for a wine tasting and visit an historical pastry shop for a bite of the local popular cake.
The tour will end just outside Lavagna, visiting the medieval "Fieschi" romanic basilic and its "borgo", surrounded by vigneards. A stop at a local trattoria for a quick lunch based on typical street food dishes will end the tour.
