Built in 1874 by King Kamehameha V, it was originally intended to be a royal palace but instead became the seat of government. Today, it houses the **Hawaiʻi State Supreme Court** and is home to the **King Kamehameha V Judiciary History Center**, which offers exhibits on Hawaii’s legal history. The building’s iconic facade is famously recognized for the **golden statue of King Kamehameha I** standing proudly in front.
