A chance to discover the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park and see the landscape and scenery that inspired James Herriot.
You'll visit the locations used in the current series of All Creatures Great and Small such as the Village of Grassington, which is currently being used as Darrowby in the series. You'll drive through villages and over passes admiring the views and taking in that in stunning landscape. You'll stop at Bolton Castle where Herriot proposed to his wife and was a favourite location of the author.

Meeting and pickup
Please arrive for collection at Coach Stop A, Leeman Road, YO1 6FZ opposite to the Memorial Gardens at 09:00. The pick up is a 5 minute walk from the Railway Station. Please arrive 5 minutes early as we are not able to wait for late passengers. What3words - ///rocks.defend.dive

Explore the charming village of Grassington, filled with cobbled streets, local shops and pubs. The village is used as Darrowby in the filming of All Creatures Great & Small.

3Yockenthwaite
Visit picturesque Yockenthwaite Farm, set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Fans of All Creatures Great and Small will recognise it as Heston Grange, the fictional home of Helen Alderson and her family, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of Upper Wharfedale.

Askrigg (Pass by)
Discover the charming village of Askrigg, best known to many as the original filming location for the much-loved television series All Creatures Great and Small. Wander through its attractive stone-built streets and see familiar locations from the series, including the King’s Arms, which featured as the Drover’s Arms, and Skeldale House, the exterior used as the veterinary practice and home of James Herriot.

7Bolton Castle
Visit the medieval Bolton Castle, once a prison for Mary Queen of Scots, this beautiful castle has stunning views over Wensleydale. The castle was a favourite place for James Herriot and is the place he proposed to his wife. *The Gardens are included in your tour price *(Please Note: On the dates listed below there is no Public access to Castle Bolton and therefore the tour will not stop here: 11th, 12th & 13th September and 26th September 2026).

Both experiences explore the beautiful landscapes, villages and stories of the Yorkshire Dales, and the day is designed to be equally enjoyable whether or not you are familiar with the television series.
