Saint Clair is one of three locally owned, award-winning wineries featured on the Sommelier Experience. Lunch here showcases local ingredients, matched with Saint Clair's wide range of wines. Marlborough is famous for Sauvignon Blanc, but there's so much more to taste as well. As part of this tour, Sommelier Arthur Griffoul provides insights into terroir and stylistic differences in Marlborough and beyond.
Whitehaven is an award-winning winery not only for Sauvignon Blanc but also for Marlborough's less known varietals. Your Whitehaven cellar door host will introduce you to Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Noir that also show the magic of Marlborough terroir.
When Frenchman Daniel Le Brun arrived in Marlborough in 1978 he was convinced it could produce sparkling wine to rival the best in the world. As a 12th generation vigneron from Champagne he knew what he was talking about! Daniel planted Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier to produce Marlborough Méthode Traditionelle. Nearly five decades later he continues to provide a classy, sparkling expression of the region's terroir.
