Walk into the mountain and everything changes. Jeita Grotto is two interconnected limestone caves stretching 9 kilometres beneath the Lebanese mountains — the upper cave explored on foot through an elevated walkway where stalactites and stalagmites up to 8 metres tall create formations that look impossible and took millions of years to build. The lower cave is navigated by silent electric boat along an underground river, gliding through chambers where the silence feels absolute and the natural formations are genuinely breathtaking. It is one of those rare places that looks better in real life than in photos — and the photos are already stunning. Your driver waits while you explore at your own pace — take your time, there is no rush.
