Most high atlas trekkers make djebel toubkal (4167m/13,670ft), in an adventures tours in Morocco, it is the highest peak in North Africa, their first goal as one of the Best place to visit in Morocco. Indeed, in season about 90℅ of trekkers in the Atlas Mountain are likely to be in the Toubkal Region at any one time. Toubkal is easy to reach from Marrakech and the summit can be tackled in just a couple of days, although it would be wiser to allow more time for acclimatization. This is a stark but exceptionally striking region. The views from Mount Toubkal summit provide a wonderful opportunity to see the Atlas Mountains forming a spine across the length of Morocco, dividing a gleaming Atlantic coast to the north and west from the scorching vastness of Saharan Africa to the south and east.

It takes 4 or 5 hours from the camp to Toubkal top (4167m), so for that we will make an early start ( 5:00 am ) after walking uphill, we enjoy an amazing view all over the high atlas mountains, After a break of 30 minutes or, enjoying with some refreshments (nuts, water, oranges ), We return to basecamp by the same route and stay here for a second night or continue to Imlil following the same way down the hill.
Early in the morning we make our attempt on the summit of Jebel Toukbal, the highest peak in Northern Africa. Our route takes us up the south cirque, crossing the stream above the refuge. The walking is relatively straightforward, but the screen and the altitude will make the going quite difficult in parts. The views along the way make the journey more than worthwhile. When you reach the summit you will see that the vistas across the surrounding landscape are quite breathtaking. From here there are unrestricted views in every direction, from the Marrakesh Plain to the High Atlas in the north and as far south as the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara. We will retrace our steps when we return down to the refuge have lunch and then head back towards Imlil. 9 to 10 hours walk. Height difference is 960m between refuge and Toubkal peak.
