Spend a full day with my family in a Zapotec village near Oaxaca and experience real life in our community.
This is not a conventional tour, but a genuine cultural experience where you will be welcomed into our home and daily life.
Throughout the day, you will enjoy homemade traditional food, learn how to prepare chocolate using ancestral techniques, visit local artisans, and explore the village and its surroundings.
We will share with you our culture, traditions, and way of life as it is lived today in our community.
Mezcal is also part of our culture, and we will visit a small artisanal distillery to learn about its traditional process.
My family and I love sharing our culture in a natural and personal way, creating meaningful and unforgettable experiences for our visitors.

We will pick you up from your hotel in Oaxaca City at 8:30 a.m. We will travel approximately 75 minutes to my hometown, San Dionisio Ocotepec, where my family will welcome you with a traditional breakfast. Afterwards, you will learn about the traditional chocolate-making process using ancestral techniques passed down through generations. We will then take a walk through the village to learn about its history and way of life; we will also visit some local artisans. Later, we will return home to enjoy a traditional, freshly prepared lunch made by my mother. After lunch, we will take a ride around the village in my tuk-tuk, a fun way to explore the surroundings of the community. Finally, we will visit a small artisanal mezcal distillery to learn about its process, history, and enjoy a tasting. At the end of the experience, we will return to Oaxaca City after a day full of authentic experiences.
