    The Cape Winelands, in particular, Stellebosch is home to over 200 award-winning wine estates. Therefore, since this is a private customizable tour, we allow travelers to choose their own wine estates for tasting or they can follow our carefully selected itinerary. A typical itinerary would be as follows: Begin your day with a pickup from your Cape Town accommodations. Travel along the N2 to your first winery, Lanzerac Wine Estate. Cape Town central to Stellenbosch central is 1 hour drive.

    Stellenbosch

    Before venturing into the first wine experience venue, an exploration of the historic town of Stellenbosch will be on the cards. Best explored on foot, the quaint and compressed town of Stellenbosch gives one a nostalgic sense of a bygone era. Endemic Cape Dutch style buildings flows parallel to the leafy streets and over a 150 year old water furrows. Old and new shops trade in art, antiques, jewellery and carved wood.     Lanzerac Wine Estate

    After the quick exploration of Stellenbosch town, the next stop will be at Lanzerac wine estate. Built on a 200 hectares farm, the estate is a mixture of a wine cellar, body spa, fine restaurant, farm shop and a splendid hotel. Lanzerac wine estate were also the first farm to bottle Pinotage, a South African wine made from the only South African grape variety and do continue to make award winning wines. Guest will have the pleasure to taste a set of wine from the farm's tier of 3 different ranges.

    Delaire Graff Estate

    The journey will go via the hilly and winding Helshoogte pass to the jewel of the winelands, Delaire Graff wine estate. A gem of an estate sitting on the eastern slops of the Boatmansekop mountain and facing the rugged Drakensberg mountains. Unlike the nostalgic Lanzerac wine estate of the 1690s, Delaire Graff combines modern buildings and stunning contemporary art pieces hanging on the walls.     Delaire Graff Estate

    Here guest will be treated with an hour to have lunch at own expense at the Asian cuisine Indoschine restaurant, before the journey takes a turn for another different experience.

    Marianne Wine Estate

    Next, head to the Marianne winery where you will enjoy a wine pairing of 6 wines with Biltong, dried meat similar to beef jerky. Marianne believes that biltong enhances their wine's flavors. Marianne's Floreal wine was hand-picked by Chef Gordon Ramsay for Nelson Mandela's 91st Birthday.

    Fairview Wine and Cheese

    We travel to Fairview Wine and Cheese estate and enjoy wine and cheese tasting. Guests may also purchase Fairview cheeses from the deli.

    Groot Drakenstein Prison

    Drive through the prison that held Nelson Mandela, formerly known as Victor Verster. The guide will stop so that you may take photos in this legendary area next to the monument of Nelson Mandela.
