Mystery Picnic, Matakana is a self-guided food and adventure experience with a difference. Each destination has been thoughtfully selected to showcase the unique food, places and attractions of the region. Not only do you find out more about your travelling companion but also what the area has to offer. Solving clues and puzzles along the way and ending at a beautiful picnic spot.

Sliced meats, cheese, crackers, olives, chutney, produce, & a sweet treat. Dietary requirements avail on request. The rest of the items are collected.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
From Auckland take State Highway 1 and get off at Warkworth. Turn right onto Old State High Way 1 (Twin Coast DIscovery Highway) and then right onto Hudson Road after the Pak N Save supermarket. Left onto Falls Road and Right onto View Road. Please meet at the cabin and press the bell on arrival.
What to expect
Following a regional map, you will discover hidden gems, try local artisan products and partake in fun activities, all whilst solving clues and riddles along the way.
At each stop, you will stop and admire the scenery and/or collect delicious, gourmet picnic food to enjoy at your final picnic destination!
Once the booking has been confirmed details of the day, where to meet, and what to bring will be emailed. At the meeting point you will be given a map and clues, along with a “base” picnic. Disposable plates and cutlery are provided. BYO drinks.
The first available time slot is 9am and the last time slot is 12pm. Available 7 days a week. Minimum 3 days notice required to book. Subject to availability. There are approximately 6 stops and distance between each stop varies from a short walk up to a 15-20 minute drive.
