Corbett's Gap Trekking

Breakfast at the hotel. Trekking to Corbett's Gap and Nitro caves- Nitro cave is a large cave hidden deep in the southern parts of Knuckles Mountains. Inhabited by hundreds of thousands of bats. This cave has a rich deposit of saltpeter (potassium nitrate) traditionally used to make gun powder. Lunch Evening tea and relax in the hotel enjoying the misty mountains. Dinner and overnight stay in Matale.

Meemure Village and Dothalugala

Breakfast at the hotel and head to the Dothalugala nature trail. Dothalugala is one of around 34 mountain peaks that make up the Knuckles range. This nature trail will take you up on Dothalugala mountain to reach an observation point where the panoramic views of the southern parts of the Knuckles range can be enjoyed. Lunch In the afternoon Visit Meemure village. Meemure is one of the most remote villages in Sri Lanka with the only access via a 14 km (8.7 mi) trail from the town of Loolwatte. Natural ponds and waterfalls situated bottom of the Meemure reminds us of a natural water garden. Lakegala mountain is in Meemure village. Residents of the village depend on several staple crops including pepper, cardamom, paddy, and ginger. Dinner at the Guest House and overnight stay in Matale.

Waterfalls and Leopard Rock View Point Trek

After Breakfast starts trekking up to the Leopard rock on a trail through tea plantation, pygmy forest, cloud forests, grassland, endemic birds, mammals, freshwater creatures in crystal clear water streams. Visit the Bambarella waterfall. Enjoy the panoramic view of the Knuckles mountain from Leopard rock. Lunch Dinner and overnight in Matale.
