A walking tour of historical temples and gardens while enjoying seasonal flowers and beautiful costal scenery in Kamakura, a city rich in nature, away from bustling Tokyo. Kamakura is the place where the first samurai politics began in the 12th century, and flourished for about 140years. Surrounded with mountains by three sides and the fourth side faces the sea, so it was difficult for the enemy to attack Kamakura, and therefore chosen as the de facto capital. The guide will talk about the historical story while walking in the historical and rich in nature Kamakura.

What to expect

First we'll take JR train to Kamakura station. Then we'll take the local train to visit Kotokuin temple where there is the open air statue of the second largest Buddha. The guide will talk about the what happened to open air Buddha statue, and its history. And we can enter the inside of the statue.Then we'll walk to Hase temple where the largest wooden statue of eleven headed golden Kannon bodhisattva is displayed. The guide will lead you to the hill on the temple grounds to see the seasonal flowers and beautiful cost lines. Hase temple has beautiful compound with ponds where the carps swim and lovely tiny statues of bodhisattva. it's like the amusement park. Then take the local train to stroll the Komachi street for lunch or shopping. Lastly visit the historical Tsurugaoka Hachiman shrine which has old samurai history and ponds with lotus flowers. You can enjoy walking tour in the rich in nature Kamakura while hearing the history from the guide.
