1. Introduction to Hmong Batik Art
Your instructor, a local Hmong artisan, will begin by sharing the history and cultural meaning of Batik in ethnic life — from traditional clothing to symbols and patterns passed down through generations.

2. Practice Drawing with Wax
Using a traditional tool called a tjanting, you’ll draw your own designs onto a piece of natural hemp or cotton fabric. The hot beeswax acts as a resist, preserving the fabric’s natural color where applied. Don’t worry — your host will guide you step by step!
