    Highland Park

    Upland, or Dagustu Park, sits at the top of the Baku Funicular a few minutes southwest of Icheri Sheher. Not only is this park in Baku clean and attractive, but it also gives some of the best views of the city’s skyline. Either ride the funicular or climb the two-hundred-and-something steps to reach the top. Locals come in numbers as the sun begins to set to enjoy the romantic views.

    Little Venice

    "Little Venice" in Baku Boulevard is a small town built in 1960. It was expanded in 2012. The town has two large and several small islands, which are connected by decorative stone bridges, and gondolas can be seen travelling in the channels full of still and clean water.

    Carpet weaving in Azerbaijan appeared a long time ago: it is the oldest type of applied art in the region, a fact that has been proven by numerous archaeological findings from around the country. From historic flatweaves to modernist picture-rugs, this tailor-made museum displays and explains a superb collection of Azerbaijani carpets.

    Baku Old City

    A nice walking tour to a history of Baku. Time travel which starts at the entrance of Old City and takes you several centuries back in history. This walking tour starts from “Icheri Sheher” subway station & expected to last approx. 3 hours. During the tour our guide will give you information about Icheri Sheher’s history, people, architecture etc. You will enter Old City through city wall gates & walk to Shirvanshah’s Palace Complex (15th century). The complex consists of various buildings, such as main building (palace), mosques, bathhouses, divan (court house) etc. During approx. ~40 minutes you will get information about history & buildings of Shirvanshah’s Palace. The entrance fee is included to price. Next stop is Museum of Miniatures (near to Palace). There you will see collection of miniature books. You will be provided with information about the collection and important books. The visit usually takes 15-20 minutes. From Museum you will take ~20 min. walk to Maiden Tower. The tower has unique architecture. You will enter the tower and have trilling climbing through several floors and very narrow stairs. On each floor you will see a presentation stand giving more information about tower & history of Baku in general. On top the tower you will get excellent view of Baku & good chance to make nice pictures. On the way to Maiden Tower you will pass a small café “Chort Poberi” (in Russian “Damn it!”). This café became very popular after a famous Soviet movie “Brilliant Hand”. If you ever wonder, for what reason in the World, someone would call a café “Damn it!”, don’t worry, our guide will tell the story you :) After Maiden Tower the tour is finished. If you wish, our tour guide can take you a small café nearby (optional). This café located in the ruins of Old City building. There you can have a nice Azeri tea or food and listen to “tar”, a national music instrument, with a nice chilling voice. You will really feel yourself as local Baku person.

    Nizami Street

    Nizami Street is a large pedestrian and shopping street in downtown Baku, Azerbaijan, named after classical Persian poet Nizami Ganjavi.This is one of the most famous shopping streets in Baku, a hip and bustling pedestrianized avenue with a rich variety of shops, including small outlets, souvenir stores and supermarkets. The main shopping area begins at Fountain Square, and it is a hotspot for clothes, especially in the high-end shops. This part of the city is also notable for its expensive and stylish restaurants and hotels.
