What to expect
A jungle dominated by leopards? Do not you believe? Yala National Park is your answer! It is believed that the park is home to one of the highest leopard dens in the world. With 1500 km², this park is 260 km southeast of Colombo. It is a combination of national park and nature reserve and is one of the major tourist attractions in Sri Lanka. In addition to the variety of birds, mammals and reptiles, the park offers a variety of habitats, large parts reminiscent of an African savannah, the outer areas of the park, however, are dominated by dense monsoon forests.
