Chefchaouen, or Chaouen, is a city in the Rif Mountains in northwest Morocco. It is known for the stunning blue buildings in its old town. Leather and weaving workshops line its cobbled streets. In the shaded main square of Place Outa el Hammam, you'll find the red-walled Kasbah, a 15th-century fortress and dungeon, and the Ethnographic Museum of Chefchouen. The octagonal minaret of the Grand Mosque stands nearby.
