After wandering through the alleys of the hutong, we arrived at a local resident's home within about ten minutes to learn how to cook and make dumplings, immersing ourselves in their daily life. The host had already ventured to the market early in the morning, armed with fresh vegetables and meat, eagerly awaiting our arrival. Upon stepping into their cozy abode, we immediately set to work, sorting through the greens, rinsing them clean, chopping vegetables, pouring oil into the pan, and stirring vigorously as the aroma of a delicious dish filled the air. And then, it was time for the next one, with dumplings waiting patiently in line for us to shape. Rolling out the dough, spooning in the filling, and pinching the edges shut, one by one, beautiful dumplings took shape. As the table was adorned with an array of mouth-watering dishes and dumplings, our hearts swelled with joy! It was almost unbelievable that we had created such culinary masterpieces.
