It been named the African leading national park for 4 years straight, the park simply offers the best African Safari. Due to the immensity of the park, animal herds are always interesting and varied. After breakfast, you will leave the camp for a Jeep safari all day for one of the most scenic adventures you have ever experienced. In addition to the great migration, Serengeti National Park is well known for home to many residents, especially the "Big Five", named as the five most popular trophies by hunters (lion, leopard, elephant, black rhinoceros and buffalo). The park is also home to many other species, including cheetah, Thomson gazelle, Grant gazelle, elk, hyena, baboon, impala, lycaon and giraffe. The park also has about 500 species of birds, including the East African ostrich, the Sagittarius messenger, the Kori fox, the royal crane, the African marabout, the martial eagle and many species of vultures.
On this day you will leave the Serengeti early to go to the famous Ngorongoro crater. As part of UNESCO's World Heritage, you will find almost all the animals of East Africa. The descent into the crater is of picturesque beauty with a lush forest and thousands of animals overlooking the view. The crater is home to more than 25,000 large animals, including 26 endangered black rhinos, as well as the densest concentration of lions in the world. It takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes to get from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro crater.
This day is dedicated to discovering Tarangire Park by the many tracks to approach animals in very beautiful savannah landscapes. Lined with forest vegetation of acacias and giant baobabs, this park is punctuated by huge areas of marshes attracting myriads of animals. Renowned for seeing elephants up close, this park has the largest herds of elephants and small migration that takes place during the dry season. This park is also home to species that are difficult to locate in other northern parks, such as the Gerenuk, Oryx and Grand Koudou. In the middle of the afternoon, you will leave the park to return to Arusha/Moshi.
