One Day Tour includes Seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu Valley Civilization first came to the Kathmandu over 2000 years ago, and each dynasty has left their Unique mark upon the land. There are over 1000 temples in the Kathmandu Valley along with several royal palaces and monasteries. Narrow streets weave their way through the old quarters of the various cities of the Kathmandu Valley with narrow stone houses that rise several stories above the flagstone streets.
The Kathmandu Cultural Tour will take you on a one day journey to Seven of the UNESCO Heritage Sites and takes full day . While the entire valley contains seven such sites, four of them can easily be visited in a single day. The tour will reflect a myriad of cultures and spirituality, dating back in some cases over 2000 years. Patan Durbar: Patan is located across the sacred Bagmati River from Kathmandu and until 1769 was its own kingdom. Known as the city of arts, Patan features amazing carvings and temples by the Newari people who have called this place home for hundreds of years. Patan has its own historic royal palace, amazing Hindu Temples and an outstanding museum that displays the cultural art from centuries before.
Pashupatinath Temple: Pashupatinath temple is most famous and important Hindu sites in Asia. Bagmati River 4 km away from city centre, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is also cremation site of Hindus and UNESCO sites in Nepal.
Bouddhanath Stupa: This Buddhist holy site is home to the 3 rd largest Buddhist Stupa in all of Asia. It is located 4 km away from main city centre and Famous touristic hub of Thamel. Rising to a height of 36 meters (118 ft), it is home of the largest Tibetan refugee Community in Nepal. Circumambulate the Stupa as you explore Tibetan monasteries with their butter lamps flickering.
Kathmandu Durbar Square: Kathmandu’s Durbar Square – The cultural heart of the ancient city of Kathmandu, this Place contains over 60 ancient temples along with known as the old Royal Palace. Stop and see. The Living Goddess, Kumari, who lives here and is often seen.
Swyayambhunath Temple : The oldest Buddhist Stupa in the Kathmandu Valley dates back over 2000 years this UNESCO site 3 km away from main city, Also known as Monkey Temple, it gets its nickname from all the rhesus monkeys that will entertain you. The site consists of many temples, Stupas and monasteries. Swayambhunath is located on the top of a large hill that provides a wonderful overlook of The Kathmandu Valley.
