Cruise the tranquil waters of the world's most ancient tropical rainforest on one of our 45-minute cruises on the Barron River in Kuranda. Your local guide shares their knowledge of the area while you discover its unique flora and fauna and history of Kuranda, keeping an eye out for freshwater crocodiles, turtles, fish and bird species. Choose from five daily departure times. Sometimes a cassowary may also be seen on the other side of the river too!

Meeting and pickup
OUR CRUISES ARE ON THE BARRON RIVER IN KURANDA ONLY. YOU CANNOT DRIVE DOWN TO THE RIVER TO ACCESS OUR CRUISES. Park your car and walk cross the Kuranda Railway Station footbridge and go down the stairs to the river where you will see our red flags flying at our jetty.
What to expect
Board your boat at the riverside landing below the Kuranda Railway/Skyrail Station, over the railway footbridge and down the stairs along Kuranda’s scenic esplanade.
Sit back and relax as your guides point out flora and fauna along the Barron River or snap a few pictures of this stunning area.
Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for an array of wildlife including freshwater crocodiles, turtles, snakes, and water dragons, as well as more than 100 species of tropical birds.
This enlightening tour is suitable for all ages and offer five daily departure times, making it a great addition to any schedule.
