A visit to Tala Game Reserve offers a serene and intimate safari experience in the heart of KwaZulu-Natal. This private reserve is home to a rich variety of wildlife, including rhinos, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and numerous species of antelope and birds. Tala’s smaller size allows for easy wildlife viewing and a relaxed atmosphere, making it ideal for first-time safari-goers or families. Guests can enjoy a guided game drive. The picturesque setting, with acacia thornveld, open plains, and wetlands, offers stunning photo opportunities and peaceful encounters with nature. Whether you're there for a half-day adventure or a longer stay, Tala Game Reserve delivers an unforgettable bush experience. Please note: In the event that Tala Game Reserve is un-available on the day of your tour, the game safari will instead take place at the nearby Gwahumbe Game Reserve, which offers a similar experience and quality of wildlife viewing.
Natal Lion Park spans a 7 km gravel loop through diverse thornveld and woodland, where you'll likely encounter lions, African and Asian elephants.
A visit to Howick Falls, located in the picturesque KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, showcases one of South Africa’s most dramatic waterfalls, plunging approximately 95 meters into a deep gorge. Surrounded by lush greenery and scenic walking trails, the falls offer breathtaking views, perfect for photography or simply taking in the natural beauty. Local legends and rich history add cultural significance, making Howick Falls both a spectacular and meaningful stop on any Midlands tour.
A Sani Pass tour is a thrilling full-day adventure that takes you deep into the heart of the Drakensberg Mountains and across the border into Lesotho. You track the steep and winding gravel ascent—rising from about 1 544 m to nearly 2 876 m, with dramatic switchbacks and jaw-dropping landscapes along the way. At the summit, you’ll cross the South Africa–Lesotho border and stand at Africa’s highest pass, where the famed Highest Pub in Africa awaits. Enjoy panoramic mountain views, dine at altitude, and visit a traditional Basotho village to sample local bread, interact with community members, and learn about their customs and way of life.
From Sani Pass the 4x4 will drop you off in Underberg from where we start our journey back to Durban to end the 2 day tour at around 6pm.
