A game safari in Hluhluwe‑iMfolozi Game Reserve is an unforgettable journey into Africa’s oldest proclaimed nature reserve—spanning 96,000 ha of rolling hills, acacia woodlands, and river valleys just north of Durban. It’s one of the few parks where you can spot all of the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and both black and white rhino—thanks to its legendary conservation success, especially in rescuing the white rhino from extinction. You jump into an open 4x4 safari vehicle and enjoy the safari experience.
Travel to St Lucia for the night
iSimangaliso Wetland Park—a UNESCO World Heritage Site is famed for Lake St Lucia—the largest estuary in Africa—home to around 800 hippos, 1,200 crocodiles, and over 530 bird species, inviting unforgettable boat cruises through papyrus-fringed channels. We do a hippo and croc boat cruise here.
A game safari in the Dukuduku area of iSimangaliso Wetland Park in a closed vehicle offers a unique blend of bush and wetlands just outside St Lucia. Accessed via the Dukuduku Gate, this section—also known as the Western Shores and including the scenic uMkhuze Reserve—spans over 25,000 ha and supports some of the Big 5 alongside giraffes, zebra, hippos, and a rich birdlife.
Visit Cape Vidal section of Isimangaliso Wetlands Park. Explore the park in a 4×4 open game-drive vehicle, traversing acacia woodlands, floodplain pans, and lush forest edges with chances to spot elephants, rhinos, buffalo, leopards, and more in their natural habitat . Expect to encounter wildlife at scenic lookouts or waterholes—ideal moments for photography as the sun casts warm light across the landscape .
