A visit to the Cango Caves offers a fascinating journey into one of South Africa’s most spectacular natural wonders. These extensive limestone caverns, with their dramatic stalactites, stalagmites, and underground chambers, showcase millions of years of geological history. Guided tours provide insight into the caves’ formation, their unique rock formations, and the fascinating stories that make this destination both educational and awe-inspiring.
A visit to the Cango Ostrich Farm offers a fun and interactive experience where you can learn about ostrich farming and get up close to these fascinating birds. Guests can enjoy guided tours that showcase the birds’ behavior, feeding habits, and impressive size, with opportunities for photographs and even riding young ostriches under supervision. This family-friendly stop provides both education and entertainment, making it a memorable part of any Garden Route or Oudtshoorn itinerary.
The Heads are a natural mystic in Knysna. The Atlantic Ocean shows it power pushing through. On top you have a amazing view over the ocean and the lagoon. This view is a must see! The heads also have beaches where you can listen to the waves and enjoy being there. There are numerous view points and opportunities for memorable photographs.
From the Knysna Heads we head off the Robberg Nature Reserve, definitely one of the best in South Africa. Robberg Nature Reserve is where we do hiking. As you hike, expect inspiring landscapes, exciting dolphin and whale sightings in season, and to be accompanied on their walks or hikes by a variety of bird species and the occasional seal.
We visit beaches in Plettenberg Bay. Plettenberg Bay offers holiday makers a wonderful holiday experience. The town has miles of sweeping golden beaches, the dramatic Robberg Peninsula, intriguing lagoons and estuaries, indigenous forests and unpolluted rivers and sea to entice visitors.
In late afternoon we return to Knysna for an afternoon or sunset boat cruise. This is an optional extra.
Discover...Experience...Explore a world of diversity in one Park. Now the third largest national park in South Africa, Addo Elephant National Park has expanded to conserve a wide range of biodiversity, landscapes, fauna and flora. We do a game drive in our vehicle at this huge national park, the 3rd largest in South Africa.
From Addo National Park we head off to the Bloukrans Bridge. Here there is an opportunity to do the bungy jump, the highest in the world at 216 metres (optional extra - cost $70-00)
We drive to Cape Agulhas, the most southern tip of Africa. In Cape Agulhas we visit a viewpoint known as the “real” place where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. Embark on an exciting tour of Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. Explore the rugged coastline, visit the iconic lighthouse, and take in panoramic views of the crashing waves and dramatic cliffs. This unique destination offers breathtaking scenery, fascinating photo opportunities, and the thrill of standing at the very edge of the African continent.
Visit Hermanus and explore the famous Cliff Path, a scenic walkway that hugs the coastline and offers stunning views of the ocean. During whale season, this is one of the best places in the world to spot southern right whales as they breach and play near the shore. Along the path, you can enjoy the fresh sea air, take in dramatic coastal scenery, and experience the relaxed charm of this picturesque town.
Hermanus is rich in breathtaking scenery; with its unparalleled scenic beauty, modern infrastructure, upmarket shops and endless adventure options, it is no wonder that Hermanus is transformed into a bustling hubbub of activity in-season as well as out-of-season. We tour the beautiful Hermanus.
From Hermanus we depart and head to Benguela Cove Wine Estate for a world class wine tasting experience. Benguela Cove Wine Estate is a top wine producer in South Africa and is ranked among the top 100 wine producers in the world.
From Benguela Cove Wine Estate, we proceed to Betty's Bay to view a colony of endangered African penguins. Experience the thrill of whale watching in Hermanus, one of the world’s premier coastal destinations for observing southern right whales during their annual migration. From the shore, cliffs, or boat excursions, visitors can see these majestic creatures breaching, tail-slapping, and interacting with their calves. The combination of stunning ocean scenery and unforgettable wildlife encounters makes Hermanus a must-visit stop during whale season. We then do the last leg of our tour traveling back to Cape Town and arriving in late afternoon.
