This seasonal birdwatching experience (January–July) takes place in the Curicancha Reserve, one of the top locations in Monteverde to observe the Resplendent Quetzal in its natural cloud forest habitat. The tour is thoughtfully designed by a specialized local naturalist guide, using carefully selected trails and timing to maximize wildlife activity and increase the chances of spotting quetzals and 30–40 bird species during a single walk.
Operated in small groups for a more personal and immersive experience, the tour is ideal for birdwatching, photography, and learning. A high-definition spotting scope is included, allowing detailed close-up views of birds and wildlife that would otherwise be difficult to see. This is more than a walk—it’s a focused, educational wildlife experience in one of Costa Rica’s most iconic ecosystems.
Meeting Point: Curicancha Wildlife Refuge main front office, Monteverde. If arriving by car, park at the official parking area and meet at the reception. Address: 300 m NW of Monteverde Cheese Factory. GPS: 10.306859, -84.807602.
