During the same excursion, you may also encounter two-toed sloths, howler or spider monkeys, coatis, and agoutis. Our guides monitor fruiting trees, nesting areas, and feeding sites to improve every outing. A professional HD spotting scope provides exceptional close-up views and opportunities to capture smartphone photos and videos. Ideal for birdwatchers, photographers, families, and nature lovers. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, making every tour authentic and unique.

Transportation Information: Complimentary round-trip transportation is included only when you select the tour option that includes transportation. If you book the Guide Service Only option and later require transportation, last-minute transfers may be available for an additional US$15 per person (round trip), subject to availability and within our regular service area. This fee can be paid in cash directly to the driver before departure.
Meeting Point: Meet your expert local guide at the main reception of Curi-Cancha Reserve, Monteverde. Park in the official visitor lot and check in at reception. Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to enjoy the best birdwatching, wildlife, and nature photography experience.
What to expect
Explore forest edges, mature woodland, and fruiting-tree areas with an experienced local naturalist who identifies birds by sight, sound, behavior, and habitat. During the tour, use a high-definition spotting scope to observe and photograph possible sightings such as quetzals, toucans, hummingbirds, trogons, Three-wattled Bellbirds, tanagers, and other cloud forest wildlife.
Designed for beginners, families, photographers, and experienced birders, this three-hour small-group tour provides patient observation, personalized interpretation, and assistance taking photos through the spotting scope.
The Resplendent Quetzal is a wild bird that moves between elevations according to seasonal food availability. Recent activity may increase observation opportunities; however, no wildlife sighting can be guaranteed.
