    Korčula Old Town is a well-preserved medieval town located on a small peninsula on the eastern side of the island of Korčula. Known for its unique herringbone street layout, the town was carefully designed to protect residents from strong winds while allowing fresh sea air to circulate. Surrounded by stone walls and towers, it offers a rich blend of history, culture and architecture, and is traditionally believed to be the birthplace of the famous traveller Marco Polo.
