Discover Pula in a different way! See all of Pula's essentials, but instead of focusing on the buildings and monuments, we'll talk about the people that once walked among them.
People make history. Various individuals shaped our town to be what it is today. This is why I created the "Badass People in Pula" walking tour.
I have collected facts, legends, stories and pictures, I even added some music into the mix.
If you don't want to miss out on all the main attractions, but at the same time don't want the classic sightseeing tour - this is ideal for you!
You will find me in front of the tourist office, holding my notebook with "Badass People in Pula" written on it.
I will let you know how you can easily get back to the starting point or suggest a different direction depending on your plans and wishes.
We will start the tour on Forum, the main administrative centre of Pula, where we will see the City Hall standing next to the beautiful Temple of Augustus
Hidden behind the buildings, it's easy to miss these ancient ruins named after a very interesting Roman woman
After a stroll by the shipyard, we will stop in the park behind the Cathedral for a story about an important bishop
The antifascist movement in Istria and Pula is essential for understanding the history and mentality of our town. In the park you will hear several stories about important people and monuments
Listen to an unconventional love story and a lovely legend related to our apmhitheatre Arena. You will also be able to take really nice pictures. *Entrance to the amphitheatre is optional and not included in the price. Please note that entering the Arena would prolong the tour for about 20-30 minutes.
Behind the gates lies the entrance to the underground tunnels connected with the fortress by an elevator. We will mention some of the previous uses of the tunnels and listen to some songs by a famous punk band from Pula. *Possible to enter the tunnels and the fortress museum. The ticket prices is not included and this visit would prolong the tour for about 20-30 minutes.
The stories of a beautiful movie star awaits us in front of the movie theatre, and a bit further down the road I will tell you about the best Croatian boxer.
We finish with the Arch of the Sergi family, where you will hear how the Arch was built (and who paid for it!) as well as why it is very often called "The Golden Gate"
