A guide and mountain escort team will arrive at the hotel in the morning to meet you and hold another briefing, after which you will drive by vehicle (approximately 3-4 hours) to the west entrance of the national park from Kilimanjaro: Londorossi Gate (2,200 m). After the quick formalities of obtaining climbing permits and registering with Search and Rescue, the group begins the trek to the first camp on the road: Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,780m). Rain jackets are a must especially on this day as you will be going through the rainforest.
An early wake-up call, breakfast and a gradual climb up to 3,500 meters; At this point, you will be able to enjoy a breathtaking view of Shira Plateau and Kibo Volcano for the first time. In general, the transition from Mti Mkubwa camp to the second high altitude Shira 1 camp (3,505m) is quite easy and takes about 5-6 hours. This will allow you to gradually begin the acclimatization process, which is a cornerstone of a good trek. When you reach the camp, your team of specialists will prepare your lunch and you will have the opportunity to rest in your tent or stroll around.
Depart from Shira 1 Camp (3,505m) and a light trek to the second high camp: Shira 2 Camp (3,900m). This trek is not difficult and you will enjoy spectacular views of Africa and the unique flora of Kilimanjaro and the surrounding area. Shira 2 Camp is the best place on the trip to see Mount Meru (Africa's fifth peak), weather permitting. When you arrive at the camp you will have lunch and after a 2 hour break everyone will do an acclimatization hike to Lava Tower Camp which offers an elevation gain of 300 meters.
After breakfast, leave Shira 2 Camp (3,900m) and head to the key point of the course: Lava Tower (4,630m). This section of the route has many climbs and descents ending with a camp at over 15,000 feet. It may be difficult and you may feel a little uncomfortable, but to successfully acclimatize to the altitude you will need to spend at least 1-2 hours here, so lunch will be here. Then descent to Barranco Camp (3,960 m). Here you can see the famous Barranco wall, which impresses with its enormous size as well as its steepness! You will climb it the next day, but don't worry: there is a very easy hiking trail
Wake up early, breakfast and start of the climb of the Muro del Barranco (we recommend leaving the camp as soon as possible to avoid the crowd of other groups). Climbing the canyon wall is not difficult and only takes an hour. After the climb, you can rest and take photos in front of the Kibo volcano. Then you start a more difficult hike to Karanga Camp, which has many ups and downs along the way, but don't worry: our guides are experts in choosing an optimal pace for the group. When you arrive at the camp, you will be offered a hot lunch. After a few hours, you must do an acclimatization hike to Barafu camp with an elevation gain of 200m, then back down to the camp.
In the morning, after breakfast, you will head to Barafu Summit Camp (4,640m), the starting point for a night ascent of Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Our team will set up a camp for you in advance, including tents and sleeping bags, so you can relax. After recovering, you should do an acclimatization trek to Kosovo Summit Intermediate Camp (4,800m) and then return to Barafu Camp where you will be served a hot dinner. It is better to spend the rest of the day resting and sleeping before reaching the night peak.
Departure from Barafu Camp (4,640 m) at night and start of the ascent of Kilimanjaro: Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). Technically, the ascent is relatively easy; However, the hardest part is the high altitude. Each pair of climbers receives a personal guide for the entire climb, who monitors your physical and mental condition. After successfully climbing Uhuru Peak, the summit of Kilimanjaoro and the last point of the ascent on the Lemosho route, if you wish, you can descend to the nearest glacier. You will then return to Barafu Camp and after a 2 hour rest you will continue your descent to Millennium Camp (3,820m).
The campsite is located in a tropical rainforest. Upon awakening, you will feel relief from the reduction in height and the satisfaction of reaching the summit. After a hot breakfast, proceed to the park exit: Mweka Gate (1650m). After the descent, the whole group will gather to congratulate you, after which you will have a chance to share your opinion on the ascent in the guest book. Finally, we will deliver your commemorative certificates to you in our office and provide you with a return transfer to your hotel.
