This 3-day mountain biking tour offers you a chance to enjoy the beauty and peace of countryside landscape and villages in Sapa. Joining this tour, you will visit and discover the famous colorful Bac Ha market and Can Cau market where you will be able to meet many ethnic minority people, such as Flower Hmong, Black Dao, Phu La, Nung and Tay people. You will visit and explore a hill tribe village named Ban Pho of Nung and Flower Hmong ethnic people and enjoy a cruise along the beautiful Chay River.

    Lao Cai – Bac Ha (Must be on Friday)

    Bac Ha

    Along the way, you will have the chance to enjoy the beauty of peaceful countryside of the Red River valley with small houses and rice fields. By noon, you will arrive in Bac Ngam. Upon your arrival there, you will stop for a delicious picnic lunch. Following lunch and a short rest, you will start the afternoon program by taking a long riding journey to reach Bac Ha. In case you feel tired as taking a long cycling trip, you can get on a prepared jeep to head to Bac Ha. Arriving in Bac Ha, you will check in hotel for the next 2 nights there. After that, you will fulfill the first day of the tour by enjoying cold drink, a shower and a tasty dinner. Approx: 5 hours cycling/ 1-hour lunch

    Bac Ha - Can Can Market - Ban Pho Village (Must be on Saturday)

    You will take a bike ride for 1,5 - hour along a hilly but very beautiful road to reach Can Cau market. Can Cau market is about 20 km from Bac Ha. It’s a small market, but very colourful. It opens only on Saturday. Upon your arrival here, you will be taken to stroll around and explore the market. Coming here, you will not only see different ethnic minority people in their colourful traditional dress, such as Flower Hmong, Black Zao, Phu La ethnic people, but also see a wide range of product sold by the locals.

    Bac Ha

    Following lunch and a short rest, you will start the afternoon program by cycling back to Bac Ha town. En route, you will pay a visit to Ban Pho village where Nung and Flower Hmong ethnic people are living. This village is well-known for planting plum. Coming here, you will have the opportunity to observe the daily life and activities of the locals and engage in some of their typical activities. In addition, you can visit a local house and enjoy a cup of corn wine, another famous product of the village.

    Bac Ha Market - Lao Cai (Must be on Sunday)

    Bac Ha Market

    After having breakfast and enjoying a morning coffee, you will start the day 3 adventure by taking a short walk to visit the old castle of the former Hmong King. Here, you will hear and learn more about the development history of Hmong people through commentary provided by the local guide. In addition, you can enjoy a good view over the town. Don’t forget to keep your camera handy to capture peaceful images of the town in the early morning. Then, you will leave for the huge Bac Ha market, the biggest one in the area which opens only on Sunday. Upon your arrival to the market, you will be taken to stroll around and explore the market. Coming here, you will not only see different ethnic minority people in their colourful traditional dress, such as Hmong, Phu La, Back Dzao, Tay or Nung minorities, but also see a wide range of homemade product sold by the locals.

    The afternoon program will start by taking a ride downhill to Bao Nhai where you will embark on a boat for a cruise along Chay River. On this ride, you will have the opportunity to enjoy stunning views of beautiful caves and peaceful life on the riverbanks. Then, you will get on a jeep waiting in Coc Ly for a drive back to Lao Cai Railway station. You will catch a train back to Hanoi. Notes: Another option for you is to drive back to Sapa for more adventurous experience of exploring the mountainous areas of Vietnam.
