Your local guide will meet you at the agreed meeting point, the tour takes you to the historic center of Puerto Plata. Together with your tour guide you will see the famous San Felipe Cathedral and the typical Victorian houses. Take a look around and use the time to buy souvenirs. As the grand finale of your shore excursion, you will visit the fortress “Fuerte de San Felipe”, built in the mid-16th century to keep pirates off the coast. Even today, it is considered one of the oldest military forts from the colonial era in the region. During your visit, you will receive many interesting facts and insights into the story.
