The 3 day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga allows travelers to experience many different parts of Morocco in a short time. In just three days, the journey passes through mountains, historic villages, green valleys, rocky canyons, and finally the vast Sahara Desert. Few tours offer such a variety of landscapes in one trip.
Another special part of this tour is the chance to visit traditional places that reflect Morocco’s culture and history. Crossing the High Atlas Mountains, exploring the ancient village of Ait Ben Haddou, and seeing local Berber communities along the road give travelers a deeper understanding of the country.
The highlight for most visitors is reaching the Erg Chebbi dunes near Merzouga. Riding a camel across the golden sand during sunset creates a calm and unforgettable moment. Spending the night in a desert camp, enjoying traditional music, and watching the stars in the quiet Sahara makes the experience truly memorable.

What to expect
DAY 1:
The trip starts in the morning from Marrakech and crosses the High Atlas Mountains through the famous Tizi n’Tichka pass. Along the road there are beautiful views and Berber villages. One of the main stops is the historic Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient kasbah made from clay and known for its traditional architecture. The journey then continues to Ouarzazate and the Dades Valley where the first night.
DAY 2:
Departure to visit Todra Gorges before continuing toward Merzouga. In the afternoon travelers ride camels across the dunes of Erg Chebbi to reach the camp. After dinner and music under the stars, guests sleep in private tents.
DAY 3:
The next morning the tour returns to Marrakech through beautiful desert valleys and mountain landscapes. The tour ends in Marrakech around evening.
