Most Vatican tours focus solely on the Museums and Sistine Chapel, but this experience starts with one of Rome’s most rewarding viewpoints: the top of St. Peter’s Dome. Enter St. Peter’s Basilica first thing, then climb above Vatican City for sweeping views over St. Peter’s Square and the rooftops of Rome. Next, return to ground level to see the Pietà di Michelangelo inside St. Peter's Basilica.
The tour continues with timed entry tickets to the Vatican Museums, where your guide leads you through highlights such as the Pio-Clementino Museum, Gallery of Maps, and Raphael Rooms. The experience ends in the Sistine Chapel, where Michelangelo’s ceiling and Last Judgement bring the tour to a powerful close. Meeting and pickup
Please arrive 10 minutes early. Meet your guide at Largo Del Colonnato. This is the area just outside of the St. Peters Square colonnades, on the right side when looking at St. Peter’s Basilica. Our staff will be there holding a “The Tour Guy” sign standing between the fountain and the green kiosk.

1St. Peter's Square
Meet your guide at Largo Del Colonnato, just outside the St. Peter’s Square colonnades. Then, walk through St. Peter’s Square, Vatican City’s grand main plaza designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Your guide introduces the square’s columns, saint statues, and the role this space plays in major papal gatherings, on your way in to the Basilica.

2St. Peter's Basilica
Enter St. Peter's Basilica to climb toward one of the highest viewpoints in Vatican City. Take the elevator to the lower terrace, then continue up the final 320 stone steps for panoramic views over St. Peter’s Square, Vatican City, and Rome.

3St. Peter's Basilica
Return to ground level for your guide’s explanation of St. Peter's Basilica, the world’s largest church. Learn about Michelangelo’s Pietà, Bernini’s Baldacchino, and the scale of this sacred landmark.

4Vatican Museums
Then use timed entry tickets to enter the Vatican Museums for a guided visit through one of the world’s most important art collections. Your route includes major galleries and courtyards filled with ancient sculpture, Renaissance art, and papal treasures. In the Pio-Clementino Museum, home to some of the world's most famous sculptures, you'll see Laocoön and His Sons, the Belvedere Torso, and the magnificent sarcophagus of St. Helen, mother of Constantine. 5Sistine Chapel

- Please note there is no skip the line service at the St Peter's Basilica, though due to our early start we are able to avoid most of the day time crowds.
- Knees and shoulders must be covered to enter the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. Guests not meeting the dress code may be refused entry. No hats or flip flops please.
- The Sistine Chapel is a place of worship, so visitors are not allowed to speak inside. Your guide will explain what you will see before entering.
- During state visits or special religious events, parts of the Vatican or St. Peter’s Basilica may close unexpectedly and without much notice.
- You are advised to be ready at the meeting point up to 15 minutes ahead of the start time to ensure a prompt start. After leaving the meeting point, your guide will bring you inside the Vatican Museums. Since we have a strict entrance time, in case of delays and late arrivals, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to add you to the group.
