    Parque Eduardo VII

    it is located at the top of Praça Marquês de Pombal, and is the largest park in Lisbon. It was renamed after the King of England when he came to Lisbon to reaffirm the alliance between the two countries. Beautiful way to start the tour, enjoying a magnificent view of Lisbon.

    Igreja de Sao Roque

    We are in one of the beautiful churches in Lisbon. It was dedicated to São Roque and was built in the 16th century. It belonged to the Society of Jesus, having been the first in Portugal, belonging to this Company, and one of the first Jesuit churches in the World. Of the various chapels in its interior, the chapel of S. João Baptista, from the 18th century, in baroque style and commissioned by D. João V.

    Lisbon Cathedral

    Lisbon Cathedral, or Church of Santa Maria Maior, is the most important and oldest church in the city. It was built in the 12th century by D. Afonso Henriques, after the reconquest of Lisbon from the Moors, and the predominant style is Romanesque, although there are other styles. Here the relics of S. Vicente were kept and one can see the tombs of D. Afonso IV and D. Beatriz, one of our Kings in Portugal.

    Alfama

    Considered as the cradle of fado, this neighborhood of narrow streets was once inhabited by aristocrats and, later, by many fishermen. This neighborhood is known not only for the Santos Populares festivities, but also for the Fado houses and restaurants. Walking through these streets is simply a unique experience. Observing the old houses and imagining the centuries of history that this place has, is just one of the rewarding moments along this tour.

    Praca do Comercio (Terreiro do Paco)

    It was for two centuries the place where the Palace of the Kings of Portugal was located. The Ribeira Palace and its library, with about 70,000 volumes, were destroyed by the 1755 Earthquake. Next to the river, there is the Cais das Colunas, with marble steps, being considered, the entrance of Lisbon.

    Mosteiro dos Jeronimos

    Built by D. Manuel I in the 16th century, it is one of the most notable and representative of Manueline architecture. It is currently the National Pantheon and to highlight the beauty of the facade, the church-hall and the cloisters. It has been classified as World Heritage by Unesco, since 1983.

    Torre de Belem

    One of the symbols of the city, it was built in the 16th century and all of its Manueline architecture goes back to the Age of Discoveries. It served at the time of its construction, as a bastion for the defense of the river.

    Padrao dos Descobrimentos

    The project was conceived in 1940, on the occasion of the Portuguese World Exhibition, but its construction only started in 1960, at the time of the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the Death of Infante D. Henrique.

    Lisbon

    The recipe for Pastéis de Belém originates from the monks of the Jerónimos Monastery who donated it at the time of the Liberal Revolution, to the Sugar Refinery, now the Pastéis de Belém Factory. A sweet way to end the tour in Lisbon.
