Detailed Itinerary Experience the magic of Morocco on this 4-day private desert tour from Fez to Marrakech. Explore the stunning landscapes of the Middle Atlas, visit Berber villages, discover the golden dunes of Merzouga, and spend an unforgettable night in the Sahara Desert. Day 1: Fez → Ifrane → Azrou → Midelt → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Desert Pick-up from your hotel/riad in Fez at 8:00 am. Travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop at Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Continue to the Cedar Forest in Azrou to see the famous Barbary monkeys. Lunch break in Midelt. Drive through the stunning Ziz Valley and its palm groves before arriving in Merzouga. Camel ride into the dunes of Erg Chebbi to witness an unforgettable sunset. Dinner and overnight stay in a luxury desert camp or standard Berber tents at Camel Trips Luxury Camp or Milagro Luxury Camp.
Day 2: Merzouga Desert → Khamlia Village → Nomads → Mifis → Erg Chebbi Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes. Breakfast at the camp and return by camel to Merzouga. Start your 4x4 desert excursion around the Erg Chebbi dunes: Visit Khamlia Village to enjoy a traditional Gnawa music performance. Meet Berber nomad families living in the desert. Discover the abandoned French mines at Mifis. Return to the camp or hotel in Merzouga. Dinner and second overnight stay in the desert.
Day 3: Merzouga → Rissani → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley Breakfast at the camp and departure towards Rissani to visit its traditional local market. Continue through Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops, and pass through palm groves and Berber villages. Lunch at Tinejdad or Tinerhir. Explore the spectacular Todra Gorges, with cliffs reaching 300 meters high. Arrival in Dades Valley for dinner and overnight stay in a traditional riad or hotel.
Day 4: Dades Valley → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech Breakfast at the hotel and drive through the Valley of the Roses and Skoura Oasis. Stop at Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco.” Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, famous for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Arrival in Marrakech in the evening and transfer to your hotel or riad.
