1. Your 3 day desert tour “Marrakech to Merzouga” will start early in the morning with a drive east from Marrakech through small suburban towns to the High Atlas Mountains. A few stops will be made to take photos and enjoy the scenery. Ride on winding roads to the famous Tizi Ntichka pass before reaching Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, the first major stop today for sightseeing. The fortified Berber village of Ait Ben Haddou is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is also known as a setting for major Hollywood epics, to name a few movies that have used the village for filming: The Kingdom of Heaven, Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. Cross the river separating the Kasbah from the main road and explore the village at your leisure. If you wish to hire a local guide, they are available on site.
2. After free lunch in one of the local cafes, continue to the Dades Valley passing Ouarzazate, the oasis of Skoura, Klaa Mgouna, the capital of the Valley of Roses and famous for its artisanal distillation factories of 'rose water.
3. Upon arrival in Boumalne Dadès, follow the Dadès river on a small road passing by various fortified kasbahs located on the side of the road leading to the Dadès canyons. You will arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Dades.
After breakfast at your hotel in the Dades Valley, our journey today will begin with the long road of 1001 kasbahs to the oasis of Tighir, where we will deviate from a secondary road along the river to Todgha where you will stop for a walk in the oasis in the shade of palm trees and continue to the Todgha gorges. After some free time to enjoy the immensity of the huge cliffs, and lunch in a local cafe (Free time), we continue in the early afternoon to Rissani, famous for its date market, and being a point starting point of the old trade. caravans crossing the Sahara Desert to Tomboctou. Upon arrival at Des Dunes lodge, feel free to take a dip in their refreshing pool before getting ready for your sunset desert trek back to camp. Meet our camel caravan and take a camel ride through the amazing color changing sand dunes with the sunset on the horizon as your backdrop. We reach our Sahara desert camp before dark. After some time to admire the sand dunes and surrounding landscapes, get ready for a Moroccan dinner served under the stars next to the campfire. Late into the night, your local nomadic hosts will entertain you with their music and local drums.
After an early sunrise camel trek through the Erg Chebbi dunes, arrive at the camp operator's lodge for breakfast, a shower and perhaps a quick swim in the camp's pool. lodge weather permitting. Meet your driver and vehicle and return to Ouarzazate. After some free time for lunch, we continue in the afternoon to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains. Your 3-day Shared Desert Tour will end in Marrakech around 8:00 p.m.
the ourika valley extends between the first foothills of the atlas, this beautiful verdant area is certainly one of the best preserved valleys in Morocco. after crossing the full fertile Haouz, you reach the douar of "tnin ourika", this charming little town is a nerve center of the region because of its souk (every Monday). Once arrived, we leave our vehicles and go for a walk that will take us to the waterfalls of setti fadma... Feet in the water of the river, we will enjoy chatting with the local inhabitants and why not share a good mint tea with them before returning to Marrakech
