Walk Bergamo's hilltop old town, take the boat to car-free Monte Isola on Lake Iseo, and taste Franciacorta sparkling wine, all by private car from Milan.
Explore Bergamo's Città Alta, a hilltop old town, walk inside its 16th-century Venetian walls, now a UNESCO World Heritage site, to Piazza Vecchia, the Colleoni Chapel and the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, and look out over the plains towards the Alps.
Then drive through the hills to Lake Iseo, a peaceful lake framed by mountains. From Sulzano, a short boat ride takes you to Monte Isola, the largest lake island in southern Europe. Wander the lakeside village of Peschiera Maraglio and enjoy lunch by the water.
In the afternoon, head into the vineyards of Franciacorta, home of Italy's finest traditional-method sparkling wine. At the Bellavista estate, tour the cellars and taste Franciacorta wines with a view over the vines.
