Ladakh the kingdom of snow-capped mountains, Spectacular roads, High mountain passes and pristine lakes makes Ladakh as one of the best places to travel in India on a Motorcycle. Picture-perfect gompas (Tibetan Buddhist monasteries) dramatically crown rocky outcrops next to fluttering prayer flags and whitewashed stupas, while prayer wheels spun clockwise release merit-making mantras. Ladakh is one of the remote places in Indian Himalayas; it is strongly influenced by Tibetan culture due to its close proximity. Riding motorcycles in these roads are one of the most beautiful things one could ever witness, covering one of the world’s highest motorable roads.
We will meet you at Buntar Airport in Kullu and our representative will pick you up from there and check into the hotel. We would like you to request to arrive at least 1 day before the tour starts.
On day one you will be picked up from Kullu Airport which is 31miles from Manali. Upon arrival at Manali you will be checked into the hotel and just relax for rest of the day. We gather again in the evening for briefing, where you will be introduced to our Crew member, followed by dinner.
Today you will be introduced to Royal Enfields motorcycles, which will be your partner for the entire tour. After giving the briefing we will start the ride towards old Manali to explore the hidden secrets of Himachal Pradesh, on the first we will visit Nagar castle then a small track leads to Jana Water fall. We will have lunch enroute and back Manali by early evening.
After spending 2 days in Manali at the height of 2050Meters ASL, we will start ascending towards Rohtang pass, this is the first mountain pass that we are going to cross at the height of 3978Meters ASL. From Rohtang pass we can view the snow capped mountains of Himalayan ranges. We will be staying at Keylong today at the height of 3080 MTRS
After the breakfast , we will start our journey towards Sarchu. We will be riding next to Bhaga River. Enroute we will be crossing Baralachala pass, which is one of the difficult pass to ride on Manali-Leh Highway. Baralachala pass is situated at the height of 4890Mtrs. We will be staying at Sarchu today at the height 4290Mtrs.
Today will be the longest day in the entire expedition, so we will start our journey towards Leh after having early breakfast. The road towards Leh is about 155 miles from Sarchu , begin with we are going to cross the famous GATA Loops , its a series of 21 hairpin bends which will take us to Nakee la Pass at the height of 4769Mtrs. After ascending we will have lunch at Pang, soon after the lunch our Ladakh motorcycle tour continues towards Moore plains, which is a flat straight road at the height of 4000mtrs, after riding for an hour or so, we will cross Tanglangla Pass, which is the second world highest motorcycle road and highest on Manali –Leh highway at the height of 5328Mtrs. By late evening we will be able to reach Leh. Leh is situated at the height of 3500Mtrs.
Today we will not be riding the motorcycles and it’s a complete rest day for acclimatisation and maintenance of the Motorcycles. In case if you want to take a look at the market of Leh then we can arrange for the same at additional cost.
After spending a rest day Leh, our Ladakh motorcycle tour continues towards Changthang plateau. We will cross multiple checkpost where we will submit Inner Line Permits and proceed towards Chang La Pass, which is third highest motorable road in the world at the height of 5360Mtrs. After ascending from Changla Pass, we will enter Changthang Plateau and ride towards Pangong Tso Lake. Pangong Tso lake is situated at the height of 4350mtrs , it is 83 Miles long and extends from India to Tibet border. We will be staying at Spangmik Village for the night
After spending a night at Spangmik, we will start our Ladakh Motorcycle Tour towards Nubra Valley, which is the coldest desert in the Himalayan Region. We will be riding through Shyok river Via Durbuk . Most of the roads after Durbuk is off road with river bed and multiple water crossings enroute . We will reach Hunder by early evening , where we will visit Camel desert safari to see Double Humped camel which are originated from Mongolian Desert
We start our ride towards Leh after crossing “Khardung La Pass- The worlds Highest Motorable road” Situated at the height of 5360 Mtrs. Khardungla is historically important as it lies on the major caravan route from Kashgar Central Asia during ancient times. Crossing Khardungla Pass is one of the key highlights of our Himalayas Motorcycle Tour. By early evening we will reach Leh and rest of the day can be utilised for Shopping.
Today we ride to explore the local places in and around Leh, like we will be visiting Thiksey Monastery , Hemis Monastery and shey palace. Its going to be half day excursion and we will be back to Leh by noon. Rest of the day you can spend on shopping or taking a walk on the streets of Ladakh.
Today will bid a goodbye to Leh and start our Himalayas Motorcycle journey towards Kargil. Kargil is 135miles from Leh and will take atleast 6 hours of ride , most of the road to kargil is well built and we will be crossing Namik LA at the height of 3700Mtrs and Fotu La, which is the highest pass on Srinagar-Leh highway at the height of 4108Mtrs. Enroute we will be visiting Lamayuru Monastery and reach Kargil by evening
Soon after the breakfast we will start our ride to Srinagar, we will cross Drass town and mighty Zoji La pass as well at the height of 3528 Mtrs. Zoji La is one of the most prominent mountain pass on Srinagar – Leh highway , the pass connects Kashmir valley to Ladakh valley and will be shut during the winters. By evening we will reach Srinagar
