3 Day Mokoro Safari Adventure in the Okavango Delta

What makes our 3-Day Mokoro Safari Adventure truly special is the authenticity of the experience. Instead of just observing the Okavango Delta from a distance, you explore it the traditional way — by mokoro, the dugout canoe used by locals for generations. Our expert polers and guides are born and raised in the Delta, so you’re not just getting a safari, you’re getting the stories, knowledge, and culture of the people who call it home.

We also keep the groups small and intimate, which means a more personal connection with your guide and plenty of time to soak in the quiet beauty of the wilderness. You’ll camp under the stars, hear the sounds of wildlife at night, and wake up surrounded by pristine nature.

It’s not a rushed, touristy safari — it’s a deep, immersive adventure that leaves you feeling connected to the land, the wildlife, and the people of the Okavango Delta.

    Okavango Delta

Your adventure begins shortly after as we head for the southern tip of the Okavango Delta. Upon reaching the mokoro station, you will meet your poler/guide who will brief you about activities and safety during your stay, before boarding a mokoro. You will glide silently through the ever-changing web of crystal waterways until you reach one of its many islands, where you will set up camp. You will be camping here for 2 nights. In the late afternoon, enjoy a guided bush walk that will introduce you to the sounds, sights and smells of the African bush. Be on the lookout for elephants, hippos, crocodiles, zebras, giraffes, warthogs and antelopes such as kudu, waterbuck, reedbuck, impala, red lechwe and sitatunga. The Okavango Delta is one of the top birding destinations in Africa. Bird species include African fish eagle, bateleur, Southern carmine bee-eater, yellow-billed hornbill, lilac-breasted roller, and lesser jacana, to name a few.
