Later, make a stop at the Praia do Forno, with its unique red sand. You will also make a quick stop at Ponta da Lagoinha, a place that bordered with Africa in Pangea era. It is hidden between the beaches of Foca and Ferradura and accessible by a small trail (500 meters). The geological importance of the area - and its preservation - is so great that, in 2003, the government of the State of Rio de Janeiro toppled the tip and its rocky shores. An explanatory sign on the site informs about the formations and their curiosities, among them, the action of waves and tides to sculpt the granite.
