Previously, Lung Cu flagpole was built during the Ly dynasty with the shape of just a sa moc tree. By 1887, France rebuilt it. Then in 1992, 2000 and especially 2002, this flagpole was restored many times with the size and scale increasing over time. Including the year 2002, at that time the flagpole was erected with a height of about 20m, the base and pedestal of the pole were hexagonal shaped and at the base of the pole were 6 reliefs depicting the surface of Dong Son bronze drums. Moreover, at the top of the flagpole there is a 9m high flagpole, with the Vietnamese national flag 9m long, 6m wide and a total area of 54 square meters. Lung Cu flagpole is one of the most attractive tourist attractions in Ha Giang. This place is not only a tourist attraction but also a pride of the nation, a place that marks the sacred territory of Vietnam.
