During this tour we will hike in volcanoes of Armenia, including Geghama mountains and two summits of Mount Aragats. Far from civilization and at the same time the place where the first origins of civilization were born. The latter are evidenced by petroglyphs and dragon-stones of the Geghama mountains .The tour includes cooking service in the mountains.
We welcome you at the airport of Zvartnots. Then we will ride to Yerevan.
From History Museum we will walk to Opera and Ballet Theater. Here our guests will be acquainted with modern Yerevan.(Northern Avenue) Our tourists will see famous statues of Armenian outstanding people in front of the building.
Yerevan cascade is a part of Cafesjian Center for the Arts. The cascade is crowned with a monument dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of Soviet Armenia. Cascade is a place of combination of modern sculptures and national architecture. The water in the cascade falls out from tubes that shapes patterns in the form of Armenian traditional symbols.
Afterwards, we will go up the stairs to Victory Park.
We will stop at village Geghard, which is the starting point of our hike to Lake Vank.
Our destination is Vishapalich ( Dragon's) Lake or Lake Vank. Nearby the lake we can sea dragon-stones, that date back to 2nd millennium BC.These menhirs are deities of water, because they are discovered exclusively close to springs, rivers and lakes.
Early in the morning we will climb Mount Nazeli, one of the beautiful peaks of Geghama mountain range. Absolute height- 3312 m Relative height- 300 m Walking distance- 10 km Duration- 2,5-3 hours
Mountain Azhdahak is the highest point of Geghama range and the third highest mountain in the territory of Armenia after Mt Aragats and Mt Kaputjugh. It is an extinct volcano and the slopes of the mountain have interesting red hue, that is why sometimes we call it Armenian “Mars”. We start hiking from Lake Akna. On the top there is a crater Lake, which changes its colors in every minute. On the summit the marvelous view of Lake Sevan, Mts Hatis, Ara and Aragats on one line is opened in front of tourists. On the way back we can meet petroglyphs, which date back to 3-5 millenniums BC. Afterwards we put tents at the foot of the mountain, where we have an overnight. We wll go down the mountain to Lake Akna, which is one of the crater lakes in Geghama mountains. Afterwards we will ride to the side of Sevan Lake.
The starting point is Lake Kari, at an altitude of 3200 meters, which has formed after snow melt. The hike is accompanied by the view of mysterious Ararat from south.
It is an extinct volcano; four peaks have formed in result of volcanic eruption. On the top there is a beautiful view of the crater and other three peaks. The name of the mountain translated from Armenian means Ara’s Throne- Armenian god whom is dedicated another mountain near Aragats. During the rise there will be about 3-4 halts. North peak of Mount Aragats is the highest in the territory of Armenia. The elevation is 4090 m above the sea level. The starting point- Lake Kari Walking distance- 11-12 km Duration- 10 hours Absolute height- 4090 m Relative height- 800 m Difficulty- higher than average preparation
In the evening our climbers will go back to Yerevan.
Last day our guide will accompany our tourists to Vernissage Market to buy souvenirs.
