Halifax’s Connection to the White Star Line TITANIC - Travel from your pickup location to the Fairview Lawn Cemetery (Titanic Graveyard). Halifax has the distinction of having the largest resting place for the victims of the Titanic with three gravesites with the Fairview Lawn Cemetery having 121. The TITANIC struck an iceberg at 11:40 PM (April 14,1912) and sank in about 2 hrs. and 20 minutes with just over 700 survivors. Recovery ships were dispatched from Halifax. Return back to Halifax from Peggy’s Cove travel time is about one hour. Guide will entertain with commentary of local history and sights along the way. Drop off to the same location as the pickup point unless otherwise arranged. Note for cruise guests. Return to Halifax Cruise Port is always taken into consideration with tours timed for drop off in most cases, no later than 1 hour before last call (1.5 hrs before ship departure) This allows for any flex time for unforeseen traffic delays; last min port shopping or to board early.
