What to expect
Guided by Yasuyuki Iwata, a certified Traditional Craftsman and seventh-generation artisan, learn about Owari Butsugu and the techniques used to craft sacred wooden objects from Kiso hinoki, Japan’s finest native cypress.
After exploring the workshop, create your own pair of Kiso hinoki chopsticks using professional tools under the artisan’s guidance. Take home your handcrafted chopsticks as a meaningful souvenir of Japan’s rich woodworking tradition.
An optional traditional lacquer finish is available for guests who wish to create an even more durable and elegant keepsake.
