    Journey from Nagoya to Tokoname, one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns and a renowned center of ceramic craftsmanship for over 1,000 years. Explore the historic Pottery Path, passing brick chimneys, climbing kilns, workshops, and galleries that showcase Tokoname’s rich pottery heritage. Visit Ikko Pottery Studio, home of bonsai pot artisan Ikko Watanabe, who preserves the traditional “kata-oshi” mold-pressing technique. Meet the artisan, discover how richly textured bonsai pots are made, and browse his impressive collection. Continue to the studio’s bonsai garden, where carefully selected pots create harmony between tree, vessel, and space.
